Birthday
Johns birthday was really the 12th of June. We celebrated a day late, Friday the 13th (I just wrote 24th because I wasn't paying attention).
Machi and John headed to my house where we had a Jetta convention. Sara and John have the same car except Sara's has "fancy detailing". John now wants to paint a silver stripe down the side of his car.
We were on our way with Johns D&G's, and Brazilian Girls
The sun was amazingly bright. Bright Lights.
Dirty City. I got a nicer, cleaner, clearer picture of the Fort Worth skyline...but I liked this one better for some reason. I love the dirty windshield.
Finally we showed up at this familiar duplex with the treacherous stairs. Alex, Jro, Machi, John and I headed to Piola, Restaurant and Garden in Fort Worth.
Piola's is an adorable Italian place in Fort Worth that I'd never heard of until Jro suggested it for Johns birthday. It's a cute little house with a great patio.
The table was very classy. Fancy. Pretty. We arrived and ordered a bottle of wine and I began to sneak pictures from the tables eye view.
The sun went down, but the temperature seemed to rise and rise and rise and rise and rise and rise and rise and rise and I was sweating and everyone was sweating and I had sweat stains on my dress and. It was sweaty. And hot.
Eric and Hampton arrived, and we ordered some appetizers, began to chat. I filmed this literally 7 seconds shy of the height of conversation. So this part's kind of boring, but it was hilarious right before this I swear.
This is the bruschetta I couldn't eat, but it looked so pretty I wanted to celebrate it by forever capturing it's presence on film. I asked the waiter if the chef could cook me something up vegetably and vegan and was disappointed. The Proseco was good and the company amazing, but my dish was probably best served not-at-all.
After a short while, Marla...
...and Jad arrived. I began to make the camera rounds.
Hampton was a hottie this evening, with her transparent top and bra showing, she was working the Carrie Bradshaw look all over the place.
John Magee, my love and life, is older than me again. And I love his shirt and I love him and hope his birthday was memorable.
Jro, best hostess. She was wonderful in helping me plan this party for John, and I so appreciated all the cupcakes and champagne and treats at her house. She's a shining star.
These are the tenants of the Vorse-Roberts Manor. Place. These are the nicest people you'll ever meet. Period. And if you don't believe me than you probably just haven't met them yet.
Listen, I hate using the flash. The night before, Machi, John, Joey, and I took pictures with our camera phones using Bics for light. I think the flash brings out the worst in people. I try in all desperation not to use it. I also feel that if I use a flash on my nice, expensive yet old digital camera, I might as well just be using a $4 disposable because you achieve the same effect. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

This is Eric, whom I briefly mentioned my flash distaste in slight way. This is Eric, whom is also nice and lets us hang at his house while he falls asleep on Monday nights. This is Eric, who said in sync with me later in the evening, "The Prettiest Princess." More on that in a few.
Machi is the news. Machi is News. Machi is the new host of Meet the Press (Rip Tim Russert). Machi won an Oscar 2 years ago. I was there; I saw it. Machi hosts cat races with other celebrities and donates the proceeds to orphans. She's just that kind of person. Machi lives down the street from me this summer and we're going to hang out. And then she'll live across the ocean from me and we won't so much.
This is a great picture of Marla, no? We were taking pictures of each other at the same time. And this one was the best.
I used my highest flash level to take a pic of Jad and Hampton and they were so white. But with Marla standing next to them, I realize she was right and does win the pale award.
We left Piola after 3 bottles and slight contemplation of desert; when the waiter asked if we'd like any John turned to Jessica with a slight hesitation and said, "How many cupcakes are there?" It was a wonderful point in the evening.

Back at Jessica's, we had our fair of sweets, treats, and champagne. Courtesy of the residents, again, the nicest people you'll ever meet. We gathered around and...
This is when Eric and I both said, "The Prettiest Princess" and fell back onto the couch literally giggling with joy.

What a stunner!
After a rousing 3 rounds of Wii Boxing VS Wendy, I was sweatier and tireder and ready for Joey to come over, WHO said he was coming a billion years before he actually arrived. Sadly because he got the most lost anyone has ever gotten going anywhere. Sara and I continued to call Joey incessantly. Keep in mind that the ride from Arlington to the plex is maybe 15 minutes. Keep in mind.

This was the damage done.
Holly and Adam finally arrived!! Hooray!!! Adam was feeling a little under the weather, so it was very nice of him to come. And Holly and Adam and Eric were all leaving for San Fran the following morning, so three cheers for those three for coming out.
This is the "non sweat stain" picture. I'll let readers interpret that as they may.
At this point in the evening...Joey was lost. I got a call from him saying, "So, is this place near Benbrook." Joey drove to Benbrook. I said NO NO NO, oh no, go this way, turn around.
Also a this point...my camera was blitzkrieged with funny faces:

Don't ask me why.
I then got a call from Joey saying he was on I-30. Good I thought, he's close. Then I realized that he was coming from the West and he informed me that he had taken I-20 until it hits I-30 and come all the way back around through Weatherford. He made a giant circle around Fort Worth. Oh man. I just mapped Joey's route, and he travelled approximately 43 miles for a 10 mile trip.
So sorry Joey. I figured he was close and tried to stay on the phone, but then his phone cut out and I had no idea where he was and I was walking up and down Forest Park with mine and Sara's cells in hand and I missed more of the fun picture taking:
Joey finally called me and said, "I'm at the 7-11 down the street." And I said, "I'll come pick you up." Got in Johns car, found Joey and finally...
He arrived! After 1 hr+ in the car for what should have been a 15 minute trip, he arrived. It was a joyous occasion.
Well, as we all know, parties wind down, birthdays end, people finally show up to houses after driving forever while other friends go home. We decided to take heed and headed home ourselves around 3 something am.
Sara rode. And she had a good time.
Joey and I dropped Sara off and went back to his place where we drank rum and root beer and watched the Texas Field Murders and smoked cigarettes until 7am. And listened to Hedwig and the Angry Inch. It was a very fun night. Joey is making two music videos for my little sister Tori's quasi-famous band The Bella Cullen Project. I will most definitely be posting the videos when they are finished, all though any reader of mine will be able to watch the videos at MTV.com and maybe even on the air. It's a big deal. We had a pow wow today about the videos, it was fun.
I really want to start making hats. I have at least 3 hat designs in my head....not big hats, just accessories. Pure accessories. hats. I'm bringing hats back y'all.
Happy B-day my love, Jmag!
