5thAve.

I moved to Ft Worth last week with Patrick. We got a place on 5th Avenue in the Fairmount District, which is walking distance to Spiral and the Chat Room and other hip venues. This is my new room, twin bed and all (oh my god, I've had this bed since 8th grade. I need a bigger fucking bed.) It's still a mess, I didn't realize how much crap I own. I always thought, "I don't need stuff. Stuff is crap" and tried to keep my stuff to a minimum. Or so I thought. Low and behold, you move out and crap just appears. Crap you didn't know you had. Crap that no one should ever own. 400 cd cases, old bank statements, childhood relics, lots of pens and highlighters, half-finished crafts and projects, loathed shoes I can't bring myself to throw away because they might, "come in handy." Crap.

This is my view. That is the greenhouse, next door. More on that later. This is really a cats eye view.
My view with tacky broken heart light. There aren't many windows, but they're good windows. For the cat.

This is one gorgeous cat. Something I've learned since leaving in Ft Worth, Alex is kind of the cat whisperer. This beautiful little creature was so upset about moving, and Alex came over my first night in the house and he wooed this cat into being sort of social. I mean, she's a slut, but I was impressed. Who knew? Not me.

This is the bathroom. Well, the upstairs bathroom. Stairs! Patrick and I share this bathroom. Which is interesting because Patrick always forgets to unlock my door to the bath and I can never get in.
This is the shower curtain I picked out without consulting Patrick. It's white and simple and girly and he is so cool with whatever! Which is reason number #1 why he's a great roomate so far. #1 Laid back.
This is the countertop in the bathroom. I've circled my girl stuff in pink, and boy stuff in blue. I have taken over the bathroom, and still Patrick doesn't care. His stuff has been pushed into the corner, and I've invaded all but 1 drawer, the cabinets, everywhere. And he's cool. He doesn't care. Love it.
This is Patricks room. I'm not going to show Patricks room, geez. I'm not going to post pictures of Patricks room on the Internet while he's at work and has no idea or power to stop me. I would never do that.

These are the stairs. They are big stairs. I recall very vividly how it feels to be a child walking down stairs. A small child. The stairs are just big. I looked at another place in Fairmount and the stairs were opposite, they were tiny. I felt like it took me forever to walk up the stairs because I had to take baby steps up them. Big stairs are better than small stairs.
This is the downstairs bathroom! Yay! It was very weird telling Patrick, "Ok, I'm going to go get some hand towels for the downstairs bathroom." That is literally something I've never said before. Also I'm going to get this decal for the door. But in black&white. I'm trying to keep it simple downstairs. I put up that print of those peeps kissing. John gave me that forever ago and I've never had a proper use. Here you go, b&w downstairs bathroom.

This is the kitchen. I love that it came equipped with the stemware hanger under the cabinets and the pots&pans hanger above the bar. It's clean, new tile, and it has a dishwasher. What more do I need?
This is the living area. John helped me paint a little. Patrick did not help at all. I was not happy, but I'm fine now. Patrick thought it was funny. That rug in front of the couch, I convinced Patrick to buy it because I wanted it, so we're even. I guess. Also I painted that robot pic. I'm going to start collecting robots. The couch is a hand me down from my rents. I lurve it. I claimed it along time ago and they finally let me have it. Look at all these video games!!!!! This is reason #2 why Patrick is a great roomate. He has so many video games and I play them all the time forever. P.S. This Beautiful Katomari game or whatever it's called is SO EFFFFFFFFING FUUUUNN!!! Patrick separated the games he thought I would like, and this is one and it's so fun. You just roll up stuff into balls, but it's hilarious. And great Japanese jazz plays in the background.
So, finished product.

This is the rockband. Alex and Patrick and I played this the other day after walking home from the Chat Room. We rocked it out. And then Patrick stepped away and Alex and I tried to play all the instruments at once and it was fun. Rockband is so fun. And guitar hero III is fun, cause you battle the devil. I can't beat it though.
This is the wall color. I wanted to contrast it, so this is the Twiggy painting Sara did and let me have before she left for London. I totes chatted with her and she's doing so well!!! For anyone concerned, she's got it made with a sweet PR job. And she works at a pub cause she likes the beeeeers.

This is the cute little alley between the apartments in the complex. It's so NOLA to me, in a way. I love the little door cover thingys.
This is the flowery bush that's outside our door. Patrick told me that the flowers go to sleep at night and wake up during the day. They were sleeping when I took this picture. Most of them.
This is just, the front. And there's my tacky heart light.
The complex, in the Fairmount District. There's a park right across the street, but it was too dark to get a pic.

This is the greenhouse next door! Literally next door.
The greenhouse was closed, but I stole a pic through the window, isn't this so Little Shop?!? They're having a special on Pansies right now. And cabbage. I'm totes gonna get some cabbage y'all.
This is the art gallery also across the street, the Monmarte Gallery. I've only been in here a couple times. Pricey, but fun.
And this is Arts Fifth Avenue, where the Beat Box Prophets performed their very first show. I live across from it now. They were having Mondo drummers when this picture was taken. This place is great!
If anyone recalls this show that we did almost 5 years ago(can't believe it) that many friends participated in, it was at Arts 5th. Jro also had her senior project there. It's a super fun artsy place. The weekend we were moving in there was some outside play going on, and people were in the streets, and it was fun. I'm so excited. P.S. I've always wondered who wrote this sign, who's handwriting is this?
So far, all is done that I want to do right now. I have a 6 minute drive to work and no pots and pans :(. Well, they're just in Austin with Jilly. Patrick and I play video games and watch Fringe and listen to PYT and Thriller and he takes out the trash which is #3 reason why he's a great roomate. So far. I'm about 1min from Alex and Jro which is great, and we walked to the Chat Room the other day, which is a great neighborhood bar. I'm excited about eating at Spiral alot and also about buying a chair at an antique store tomorrow. And about playing more rockband, which I'm going to go do right now. Goodbye.
